Biloberizka and Pyadytska CCs Utilize Backhoes to Respond to Natural Disaster

USAID DOBRE, which is implemented by Global Communities, has provided excavators to several CCs in Ukraine as part of its service delivery improvement projects, which proved very useful when a recent hurricane caused major damage in DOBRE partner CCs Biloberizka and Pyadytska including flooding, fallen trees, roads covered with stones and debris, all of which damaged livelihoods. In Pyadytska, an excavator helped strengthen the local dam (20 m, Mala Kamyanka vil) and clean up ditches (150 m, Pyadyky; 25 m Hody-Dobrovidka; 350 m Turka; 250 m Velyka Kamyanka vil). In Biloberizka an excavator helped clean roads to increase accessibility to Zapotik, Parkan, Biloberizka and Khorotseve vil; clean channels in Mlynsky, Chornyi; install sewage pipes to remove water from the livelihoods to the Cheremosh; and improve the road connection between Ivano-Frankivsk and Parkan vil, which is the only road that goes to Biloberizka and Khorotseve vil.
