Video: Empowering Vulnerable Girls and Young Women in Kenya
In Kenya, Global Communities is implementing the President’s Emergency Plan For AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) DREAMS initaitive, which aims to help adolescent girls and young women lead Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-free, Mentored and Safe lives. Below is a video on the impact of a public private partnership between the DREAMS program and Kenya Commercial Bank’s (KCB) 2jiajiri initiative, which seeks to empower and equip unemployed and out-of-school youth to grow micro enterprises by providing them with technical skill training opportunities. The initiative also aims to upskill and certify existing micro-entrepreneurs who wish to move their business from the informal to the formal sector. The video profiles Helen Kasuki, who got her start in agribusiness thanks to the initiative.
